Now the following are facts about this pup:-

1) This dog is a mixed breed of Shar-Pei and Bassets Hound.

2) They are also known as Ba-Shar and Sharp Asset.

3) They come in a variety of colors but are majorly seen in Brown, Black, Chocolate, and White.

4) Shedding in this breed happens through a procedure known as “blowing coat” and generally occurs during spring and fall that too for a couple of days.

5) The Ba-Shar is enthusiastic, quiet, friendly, and is sure about its own decisions.

6) The grooming needs of this breed are moderate, twice a week coat brushing will do great, and ear cleaning should be done regularly. (as it has floppy ears and can cause infection if remained uncleaned).

7) There is one myth about the wrinkles of this pup that it causes skin infections.

8) Not skin infections, but the wrinkles put weight on the eyelids that cause it to rub on the cornea. This indication is known as entropion and can be resolved by the procedure called ‘attaching.’

9) As it is a combination of breeds that are exactly opposite in the temperament, training it will be a really tough task to do. Okay, just so you know, shar-pei is a stubborn and aggressive breed while basset hound has the laid-back temperament.
